Job description: Florette is looking for a passionate Sous Chef to join our small team in a leadership position as we continue to grow.

We’re a fun neighbourhood restaurant dishing out funky food and cocktails, in a cozy, stylish space. Our menu focuses on local, seasonal ingredients and inventive specialty cocktails + cool wines that pair well.

We’re working on building an incredible restaurant by first building an amazing place to work. Somewhere that is collaborative, caring, and fun, with work-life balance as an emphasis.

We love this industry and are building what we hope to be an industry spot! We love and will work hard to support people who want to continue their growth in hospitality.

Requirements

Besides significant experience in BOH management roles at quality-focused restaurants, we’re looking to build a team with:

• Passion for food: We aim to put out fun, unpretentious food that people would want to keep coming back for and our Sous Chef will play a key role in leading its execution.
• Emphasis on the team: Each cook works every station and is treated equally. We work towards a common goal of putting out great consistent food, while having each other’s backs. It’s important that our Sous Chef is a leader that has the same attitude.
• Growth: There will be many opportunities to grow as an individual and a team- wine tastings, workshops, demos and the like.
• Love for the local food scene: We love using local ingredients and supporting local everywhere we can.
• Creativity and individuality: We are a creative team and would love to have you join us on this journey and for you to express your individuality in food within the realms of our menu and restaurant.

Benefits

Our pay range is $59,000-$70,000, including tips.
