The OMA has moved to a permanent hybrid work environment. As such, the individual in this position will be required to work a minimum number of days in our Toronto office.

Job Summary

This position engages and educates members, medical students, residents and other physicians about the role and importance, value, and capabilities of OMA Insurance.

The Specialist, Education & Engagement, develops contacts and business relationships with medical schools and universities, OMA, CMA, MD Management, and other medical associations.

You Will Make a Difference By

  • Identifying opportunities to educate medical students, residents and practicing physicians on the importance of insurance and to create an awareness and understanding of OMA Insurance, products, and services
  • Creating and delivering presentations, coordinates events, and develops social media communications.
  • Identifying opportunities to refer members seeking advice/inquiring about products and services and develop and manage relationships with industry, medical associations, and educational institutions.
  • Developing and implementing an Education and Engagement plan and prepare, coordinate and maintain a schedule of planned educational and engagement events.
  • Designing and delivering a curriculum to educate and engage audiences.
  • Researching, collecting and providing insights to internal and external stakeholders from market interactions, including competitive intelligence, environmental issues, membership, educational and licensing requirements, and other issues that may impact members and OMA Insurance’s ability to achieve its goals.

Requirements That Are Important to Us

  • Community College Diploma in Finance and Insurance or Business Marketing
  • 2-3 years of relevant experience
  • Possess the Life License Qualification Program (LLQP) Certificate OR working towards obtaining the LLQP within 6 months of the hire date.
  • Group and individual insurance knowledge, presentation and communications skills, leadership and public speaking skills

Assets:

  • Educator/Trainer Designation/Certifications.
  • CFP (Certified Financial Planner) Designation.

Specialized Knowledge:

  • Retirement product knowledge such as RRSP, TFSA, annuities, retirement planning knowledge is an asset.
