Why this role is important?
Reporting to the Senior Director, In-store Marketing & Experiential, the incumbent will be responsible for the overall in-store Marketing experience as it relates to in-store assets, including the development of communications for Shoppers Drug Mart Marketing campaigns and promotions, as well as store level execution of all Marketing materials. The incumbent will also be responsible for scheduling in-store assets including digital screens, and in-store audio, as well as oversee the daily operations of in-store vendor partnerships.
We are hiring a Specialist, In-store Marketing & Communications
Reporting to the Senior Director, In-store Marketing & Experiential, the incumbent will be responsible for the overall in-store Marketing experience as it relates to in-store assets, including the development of communications for Shoppers Drug Mart Marketing campaigns and promotions, as well as store level execution of all Marketing materials. The incumbent will also be responsible for scheduling in-store assets including digital screens, and in-store audio, as well as oversee the daily operations of in-store vendor partnerships.
Duties
- Development (writing), tracking and submission of all Marketing communications for Shoppers Drug Mart / Pharmaprix stores including but not limited to in-store signage, promotions, contests, loyalty initiatives, Shopper Marketing, seasonal campaigns and special projects
- Maintenance and bi-weekly circulation of the communication workback schedule and POP kit overview to coordinate effective and timely delivery of in-store communications (e.g. approvals, submissions, mailbag deliveries, etc.) with the In-store Marketing, Merchandising and National Operations team
- Departmental liaison and internal support for store communication requests with various teams throughout the organization (e.g. Category Management, Merchandising and National Operations)
- Maintain consistent communication channels across all marketing communications by adhering to standards developed by the Store Communications team (e.g. communication templates)
- Coordination and management of meetings with internal departments (e.g. Category Management, Merchandising and National Operations) to ensure alignment, identify issues and communicate upcoming marketing initiatives
- Maintenance and weekly updates of Marketing schedules including (but not limited to) the POP kit schedule, POP placement and hot spots, POP real estate tracker, etc.
- Schedule content for both in-store audio and digital channels, leveraging submitted briefs ensuring requests align with current guardrails
- Work closely with various vendor partners including (but not limited to) digital, audio, and print to ensure in-store assets are accurately scheduled, delivered and invoiced
- Facilitate any store or colleague inquiries pertaining to hardware, software, or delivery of any elements and / or communication pertaining to Marketing
- Work closely with in-store audio vendor to update music playlists and selections on a quarterly basis
- Support Shopper Marketing programs including ensuring that all in-store creative aligns with content and placement guardrails
- Other responsibilities as required

Education:
- Post-Secondary Education or a combination of Communications and Journalism experience, with an emphasis on writing
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft 365 applications (e.g. Word, Excel and PowerPoint, Outlook)
Experience:
- A minimum of three years of relevant, applied communications experience is required
- Experience working with and gaining alignment from multiple internal stakeholders
- Experience writing Marketing communications are considered an asset
