Hiring Unit: Ingram School of Nursing

Course Title and Course Number: HSEL 309 Women’s Reproductive Health

Estimated Number of Positions: 1

Total Hours of Work per Term: 77

Dates: January 3, 2024 – April 30, 2024.

Job Description: Under the supervision and in collaboration with the course coordinator, will lead and debrief select online group discussions; will monitor and grade student participation in activities to create a learning community. TA is expected to attend and co-host select Remote zoom classes and must therefore be available at the scheduled class time. TA participates in the evaluation of students in all learning contexts in the course; and will contribute to providing student feedback, coaching and group facilitation.

Salary: $33.03/hour

Qualifications:

Current Masters or Doctoral student at McGill.

Graduate teaching experience is preferred and an asset.

Must be eligible to work in Canada

Candidate will have sound knowledge of ecosystem, policy, societal and healthcare influences on women’s reproductive health. Will have capacity to support student learning in context of critical conscientization; includes anti-oppression, anti-racist and anti-colonialist approaches. Capacity to grade short-word assignments for depth/scope of critical consciousness and critical health literacy (plain language). Candidate must be skilled in working in remote and online learning contexts (zoom infrastructure; myCourses infrastructure: discussions, assignment folders, grade-book etc.). Prior experience/ability to grade using holistic rubrics. Experience with peer review/feedback methods and processes an asset (EduFlow). Prior experience/ ability in HSEL 308 or HSEL 309 an asset.
