Reporting to the Regional Sales Manager, TM Flooring, the Technical Sales Representative is responsible for the following tasks:

  • Position Sika as a company that provides quality products and service.
  • Build and maintain business relationships with current and new customers and contractors within designated territory.
  • Develop sales plans and strategies with customers and distributors.
  • Assist customers with technical support including specifications and system recommendations.
  • Systematically prospect, visit and develop relationships with potential new customers, key architectural firms, specifiers, engineers, consultants, and general contractors in designated territory.
  • Attain sales, pricing and discount objectives.
  • Identify and follow up on new market opportunities. Analyze competition and be prepared to defend our sales position.
  • Resolve any issues with customers and contractors in the territory, including but not limited to products, applications, logistics, credit etc. Refer or request assistance of various corporate office department personnel when necessary.
  • Provide a detailed monthly report reviewing highlights, lowlights, projects summary, account updates, competitive information and progress in designated territory etc.
  • Support the company and corporate personnel in achieving defined goals and objectives

We Need Your Skills

  • Education: University or College degree in business or technical field of study or pertinent experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in technical sales.
  • Proven sales experience in construction products industry, preferably for a flooring manufacturer.
  • Proven sales territory development and growth.
  • Must be computer literate and willing to upgrade his/her skills on an ongoing basis.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, Exchange.
