Role:

Reporting to the Delivery Manager, this role is responsible for providing leadership and supervision to Delivery Associates to ensure financial, operational, customer and human capital objectives are met as per Profit Plan, including year over year improvements in service levels, shrink results and safety frequency

Role Responsibilities:

  • Scheduling Delivery Associates effectively at all times; maintaining time/attendance systems for payroll.
  • Organizing order preparation and assigning Delivery Associates to unassigned routes daily.
  • Providing hands-on training with follow-up and coaching on the consistent use of Preferred Work Methods.
  • Ensuring direct reports’ compliance with all Safety, Legislation, and Sysco policies. Training, investigation, reporting and follow-up as required.
  • Leading by example in the use of Key Principles; monitoring performance daily, providing feedback and delivering coach card observations as per set objectives.
  • Conducting Delivery Associate ride-withs; coaching as applicable.
  • Commitment to Service Excellence. Asking for feedback and sharing positive stories. Reviewing and responding swiftly to feedback from Sales and/or customers, gathering all information needed for thorough investigation and prevention of recurrence if a complaint. Escalating as per guidelines.
  • Participating in and/or leading various meetings/groups (shift, departmental, company and safety).
  • Performing other duties as assigned by Transportation or Senior Operations Management.

Qualifications/Skills/Job Requirements (About you):

  • High School Diploma or higher required.
  • Valid Class 1 License with Air, WHMIS, Health & Safety Level 1 & II, First Aid and CPR would be assets.
  • Minimum 3 years in a logistics role, preferably in food service.
  • Consistent exemplary performance, customer-focus and proven commitment to Sysco & associate success.
  • Schedule will consist of Tuesday’s to Saturday’s, hours to be determined and subject to change.
