Job title: YouthWorker – Pathways to Education
Job description: Pathways to Education accompanies youth in developing their potential and achieving their academic goals. We encourage youth to: take an active role in building their future, obtain their high school diploma, and pursue their dreams. Students residing in Pointe-St-Charles have free access to a comprehensive set of services: personalized one on one support, tutoring, mentoring, and financial support.

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Become familiar with the strengths and abilities of students registered in the program to help them achieve their goals
- Establish and maintain positive and cooperative relationships with parents/guardians and high school staff to act as a liaison for students
- Collect and evaluate the information related to the youth needs.
- Refer students and parents/guardians to other organizations when necessary;
- Gather information about participants and enter it into the program’s database;
- Adhere to YMCA policies and procedures on protecting children and vulnerable adults;
- Understand and integrate the value of philanthropy in his or her position and the Association, and participate in fundraising activities/events.
REQUIREMENTS
- A BAC in intervention or related fields OR a DEC WITH 2 years’ pertinent experience.
- Relevant experience in education considered an asset
- Is able to quickly establish a trusting and respectful relationship with youth
- Is proficient in Microsoft Office, and particularly in Word and Excel
- Is able to communicate in French and/or in English (strong verbal skills and excellent writing skills)
- Available to work early evenings
- Has no criminal record in connection with employment
