Why is this role important? Primary Responsibilities

This Role will be primarily responsible for analyzing the End-to-End Retail processes impacting store financials for compliance and opportunities to meeting performance targets, supporting audit controls and leveraging best practices. The individual will work closely with stakeholder teams to ensure process changes are evaluated with the end-to-end impacts and goals.

Additionally, this position will be responsible for related store communications for Store Financial Processes area of focus. Process changes and improvements will be jointly facilitated and agreed upon with required stakeholders.

Prepare Annual Inventory Reconciliations for counted stores and ensure 100% accuracy rating when adjusting Inventory Gross Margin Results

Provide insight to management team highlighting issues/trends and escalate any high risk operating deficiencies associated to inventory reconciliations in a timely manner

Actively seek opportunities for process improvement and escalate high risk activity

Support projects to improve business processes and outcomes

Prepare Journal entries/uploads in a timely and accurate manner

Provide support and maintain strong relationships with stores and other internal business partners

Responds to telephone and email inquiries to provide advice and resolution of reporting issues or concerns, as required Skills, Experience & Education

Skills

This position requires a demonstrated level of initiative and judgment to organize and prioritize tasks, workload and projects and work well with others.

Advanced Computer skills to analyze large amounts of data to produce effective reports, documents and spreadsheets (Advanced Macro skills is an asset).

Draws on a number of known options to solve problems and to develop improvements

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, Commerce and/or Finance: in the process of completing CPA qualification.

Requires an understanding of inter-related work processes to be able to adapt to differing assignments.

Provides routine information to coordinate the assignments and work procedures of others.

Proven Time Management skills: ability to plan, set and assign work priorities to meet and/or exceed performance goals.

Professional manner, tact, diplomacy and discretion in dealing with colleagues including senior managements.

Adaptable to set and prioritize work with varying exceptions. Able to work with diverse personalities and styles.

Communicates with clarity, verbally and in one on one or group situations, or over the telephone.

Attention to detail and an appreciation and acumen for placing/having thorough checks in place.

Communicates well in writing by composing clear documents; facility with editing and/or proof-reading is required.

Business acumen – knowledge of accounting guidelines, principles and procedures.

Experience

Entry level (one year) finance, accounting, business or equivalent experience is an asset, but not required.
