Job description: We’re on a quest to find a Senior Financial Analyst/Finance Manager to manage the accounting and financial reporting for a growing team at Open Ocean Robotics.

Are you a CPA or equivalent with at least 5 years of FP&A experience and expert level of Excel modeling skills? Core Responsibilities

  • Be the accountable person for the finance function under the guidance of an external fractional CFO and liaise with external bookkeeper and tax accountant.
  • Develop the project accounting process and track project costs
  • Lead the development of actionable management reporting, financial modelling, dashboards, KPIs and overseeing financial performance
  • Lead all monthly financial reporting to business units including actual to budget results and the creation of rolling forecasts
  • Support the development and preparation of financial models for government funding opportunities, complex business cases and decision support
  • Drive the continued improvement of our Finance function
  • Assist with design and maintenance of the accounting, budgeting, and reporting systems, including identifying tools and initiatives to improve our FP&A data and processes
  • Assist in the preparation of investor presentation and materials
  • Other projects and activities as assigned

Requirements

Skills & Qualifications

  • BSc/BA in accounting, finance or relevant field
  • CPA designation or equivalent
  • At least 5+ years experience in FP&A and financial reporting
  • At least 8+ years experience in progressive accounting and finance related roles

Key competencies

  • Proven experience as a senior FP&A analyst/New Finance Manager
  • Expert-level Excel Modelling Skills
  • Quickbooks online experience preferred
  • An analytical mind with a strategic ability
  • Excellent organizational and leadership skills
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Demonstrated self-learner
  • Ability to work well with cross-functional teams and thrive in a changing, growing environment

Conditions:

This is a full-time permanent position based in Victoria, BC available for immediate start. However all strong candidates will be considered.
