The opportunity
Our finance team is evolving to meet the needs of our growing business and we are seeking a Manager, Corporate Finance who has the proven skills, competencies and experience to develop and execute TC Energy’s finance activities. The purpose of this role is to carry out corporate finance initiatives including balance sheet management, raising capital, managing credit ratings and commercial banking relationships.
What you’ll do
- Lead a team of finance professionals in developing and executing TC Energy’s financing strategy
- Execute capital market transactions including debt and equity financings
- Develop and maintain investment and commercial banking relationships
- Manage credit ratings
- Prepare Corporate Finance related Board of Directors materials as well as presentations and analyses for credit rating agencies, bondholders, investor meetings, banking syndicate and other lenders
- Support structured financing initiatives
- Interface with various functional areas including treasury, finance law, accounting, tax, corporate planning, commercial and regulatory;
- Manage commercial and administrative aspects of Corporate Finance
- Other duties as required.
Minimum Qualifications
- Undergraduate degree in statistics, math, finance, commerce or economics
- 15+ years related and progressive industry/business experience is required
- Strong knowledge of capital markets and understanding of alternative financing instruments;
- Ability to anticipate and proactively resolve issues
- High propensity to strive in a high stress deadline driven environment
- Passion for financial markets
- A thorough understanding of the fundamental principles of economic and financial analysis and accounting;
- Ability to work effectively under time constraints and manage multiple priorities/expectations
- Advanced interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to maintain collaborative working relationships with external stakeholders and across functional groups within the Company
- Strong business aptitude and quantitative skills plus the ability to be innovative and capable of critical analysis and problem solving
- Keen attention to detail and excellent organizational skills
Preferred Qualifications
- An MBA, CFA and/or professional accounting designation is an asset
- Leading a team of professional is an asset
- Capital markets experience
- A general understanding of the pipeline and energy infrastructure business along with specific knowledge of TC Energy’s operations
