Job description: Robert Half has partnered with a company in the Real Estate & Property field, to fill an opening for an Accounts Payable (A/P) Clerk. As the Accounts Payable (A/P) Clerk, your efforts will become an important part to the success of a company in the Real Estate & Property industry. Based out of the Ottawa, Ontario area, the Accounts Payable Clerk will be a long-term contract / temporary opening. This department offers prospects of career growth and advancement. The Accounts Payable Clerk will be required to match and batch code invoices, resolve A/P issues, process expense reports, update and reconcile sub-ledger to G/L, and process checks.

How you will make an impact:
– Execute additional tasks as needed
– Verify, log and send checks, including facilitating special handling
– Support the AP/Finance Department by completing administrative tasks
– Help with internal and external audits as required
– Accomplish full-cycle A/P
– Organize, register, scan, and file invoices, checks, and other documents
– Handle the customer service needs of internal business partners
– Execute daily processes and controls accurately and in a timely manner; ensuring compliance with company policies
– Manage department mail by opening, sorting, and distributing it on a daily basis

– Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills, especially when interacting with those in the technical and financial backgrounds
– Prior experience in an A/P role preferred
– Observant, accurate and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment
– Proficient with spreadsheets and databases
– AA or BS/BA degree in Accounting, Business or similar preferred
– Accounts Payable (AP) experience desired
