Job Description

What You’ll Be Doing
The Sr. Financial Analyst is responsible for the financial oversight of Wood Gundy LOB within Wealth Management and is accountable to consult with business partners to support effective business decisions and strategic direction. The Sr. Financial Analyst will assist in the oversight of all financial aspects of the line of business and will maintain relationship with key business partners including Wood Gundy sales leaders and the business heads of the business and across Wealth Management.

How You’ll Succeed

Analysis – Evaluate business unit performance through detailed monthly variance analysis of financial and management accounting revenues/expenses and key business metrics (including FTE, cost savings initiatives etc.), with comparisons to prior year, plan and forecast. This includes working closely with the Reporting and Accounting teams under Finance Controllership and Operations, Wealth Management Finance and key functional groups within the business to resolve financial and management issues and communicate their impact on the businesses including all adhoc inquiries and analysis including business case review and the plan transfer process

Forecasting – Responsible for the preparation of the quarterly forecast (latest estimates) and the annual budget and planning process (including strategic and transformational initiative plans) for the business, which includes ensuring the financial models, key drivers and assumptions are accurate and presenting updates to senior management in the business and Wealth Management Finance

Reporting – Provide accurate in-depth reporting/analysis on Direct Operating Expenses, Cost Allocations from Service Partners across the bank and FTE to the senior management teams within Wood Gundy and Wealth Management Finance including the overview and management of the LOB’s CCIS hierarchy
