What you’ll be doing…

Our Manager, Finance Transformation & Innovation is seeking a Program Manager to concentrate on Finance Transformation initiatives to improve controls and enhance processes within the Finance Division, including the Accounting, Budgeting & Forecasting and Capital Departments. This person will perform a broad range of project work for the Finance and Accounting department, such as our Electronic Fare System and will represent the Finance Division in the implementation of key corporate projects and initiatives.

What you’ll bring to the table…

  • Post secondary degree in an Accounting, Finance, Project Management, Business Administration, or related discipline
  • Considerable experience in a related field combined with at least 5 years’ experience leading and managing projects
  • An equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered
  • Proven experience with external financial reporting, internal controls compliance, sound fiscal management and computerized financial systems in a mid to large size organization
  • Sound knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles, practices, standards, and reporting

What else we’ll consider…

  • Certified Professional Accounting designation
  • Previous experience in as a Controller, Assistant Controller or other related role in a complex, public sector organization with an understanding of public sector accounting
  • Experience using JD Edwards and/or Hubble reporting software
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or equivalent training is an asset
  • Experience with Lean 6 Sigma programs an asset
