Job description: My client, a US listed firm in Vancouver is looking for a Director of Finance.

Hybrid work arrangement

As a Director of Finance, you will assist the CFO in leading and managing the accounting, financial reporting and financial controls teams with a total team size of more than 10 people.

• Issues internal and external financial reports to provide to management, the Board of Directors, the policyholders, the regulatory bodies, and the rating agencies with an accurate view of the firm’s financial position
• Ensures compliance with all regulatory requirements and mandates. In collaboration with the executive management, ensure establishment of an appropriate internal control structure and practice
• Administers the design and implementation of financial and expense management systems and seeks ways to improve financial reporting and controls
• Manages the company’s relationship with the independent auditors, compliance advisors and audit committee
• Overseas all financial controls and processes, ensuring robust and compliant financial processes, including compliance with SOX and other related regulations
• Manage treasury, hedging, cash and the liquidity needs and continue to drive cash flow performance, including managing the capital structure strategy and executing against it. Ensure that cash, foreign exchange, and interest rates are monitored and managed to meet the plan and develop and maintain key banking, insurance and other relationships
• Manage ongoing, and future, financing activities, including equity and share issuance, preparation of investment prospectus supplements and supporting data, coordinate strategic relationships with investment bankers, brokers, legal counsel, investors and appropriate reporting and control structures around financing activity
• Lead due diligence and data room management including outbound, with prospective business partners, and inbound, with investors and strategic partners, ensuring all data is obtained, prepared and signed off
• Embrace continuous process improvement and adoption of best practice with the optimal use of systems, tools, and building high caliber teams
