About the Opportunity
- Oversee all facets of the financial accounting systems for the company. Perform month-end closing activities, including general ledger maintenance, balance sheet reconciliations and overhead cost allocations
- Oversee Accounting assistant for all accounts payable, accounts receivable, monthly commissions and employee expenses
- Complete month-end closing journal entries, financial reports, payroll summaries
- Payroll management
- Assist in the completion of annual or special reporting for shareholder requirements i.e. such as reporting for tax filing or monthly/quarterly board reports
- Adhere to and improve internal controls and financial procedures
- Complete government filings – i.e. EHT, HST, WSIB returns
- Review all cost drivers and look for means to improve them where appropriate
- Responsible for analysis in opportunities and deficiencies
- Provide administrative support as assigned
- Work with external accountants to complete year-end statements for tax purposes
- Financial modelling and analysis
- Ad hoc administration and office management as required
About You
- CPA
- Strong knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles
- Able to compile a complete set of books and records on an accrual basis
- Bilingual (English & Mandarin) is a strong asset
Salary Range
$80,000 – $90,000/year
