Job description: Our client is a well-known big-box retailer. Over the last two years, they have successfully pivoted to new channels to grow their business in challenging times. They are privately owned, with a strong culture of collaboration. Their many long-tenured employees consistently demonstrate the core values of caring about the business and the customers. It is very much a culture of “all hands on deck” to address issues.

An opportunity has opened up for a new Director of Accounting. This position will be the most-senior finance role in the company. As the title implies, the role can be thought of as a “super controller” with a deep focus on providing accurate reporting and analysis of results to allow for better cash management, priority setting, and decision making.

The company implemented a new ERP system last fiscal, and the initial pains and challenges that come with that are in the past. The focus now is on getting a return on that investment, by improving processes, and producing timely accurate financial data on a reliable basis.
