Job title: Coordinator, Finance and Operations
Job description: The Coordinator, Finance and Operations coordinates, trains and advises on financial transaction processing, account reconciliations, analysis and budget preparation. The position coordinates operational activities for Executive Education, RADIUS and the Chang Institute and oversees office maintenance services, and other operations projects at the Harbour Center location. The Coordinator works with Facilities Management, Financial Services, other SFU departments and external contacts to carry out these duties.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or a related discipline, and two years of related experience in financial and operational administration, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
- Good knowledge of accounting principles and procedures.
- Good knowledge of Canadian granting agency regulations and excellent grant financial administration skills.
- Good knowledge of Excel (pivot, vlookup, index match sumif etc), Word and PowerPoint.
- Excellent organizational, analytical reasoning and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication (verbal, written and presentation) skills.
- Ability to adhere to policies, procedures, and processes.
- Ability to manage operations/administrative activities.
- Ability to find solutions independently and exercise mature judgment and initiative.
- Ability to prepare reports and maintain records with a high degree of accuracy.
- Ability to interact professionally and collaboratively with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.
- Ability to understand, explain and apply policy.
- Ability to handle confidential/sensitive material with discretion.
- Ability to work with high volumes of work, set priorities and meet strict deadlines, while maintaining a high level of accuracy.
- Ability to arrange suitable transportation to work at other SFU campus locations as required.
- Ability to work evenings and weekends.
