Job description: Home Hardware has two exciting opportunities for a Finance Co-op Student in our Corporate Finance and Financial Planning and Analysis Teams. In this role, you will have the opportunity to contribute to our fantastic team and to develop your business, finance, or accounting skills. You will be responsible for assisting the finance department in delivering quality financial and business support.

What you’ll do:

• Research and complete various data analysis and collection exercises to support corporate development, financing initiatives and the execution of improvement projects.
• Support the team in forecast process, ad-hoc reporting and analysis as required. Use various analytical tools to identify issues and implement solutions.
• Support the company with supplier negotiation reporting.
• Manage databases and input information, data, and records. Prepare supporting files related to financial processes.
• Support Finance Department with daily and monthly transactions.
• Comply with all accounting policies and standards.
• Participate in special projects and assignments as requested.

What we’re looking for:

• Currently enrolled in a B Com or BBA university degree, with a specialization in Finance or Accounting.
• Previous experience in financial accounting or planning, and financial analysis is beneficial.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (including Excel and Word), financial reporting and/or database knowledge an asset.
• Excellent communication, organization, and time management skills.
• Strong attention to detail and proficient in demonstrating analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Collaborative and team-oriented with well-developed interpersonal skills.
• Ability to adapt to changing business needs.
