Role Description
This position manages the business finance function within LEO Canada. The role encompasses keeping financial integrity, delivering high quality business partnership, and ensuring compliance with reporting mandates within the North American Region as well as global requirements. The position also involves providing strategic leadership and orchestrating these critical functions to achieve the company’s short-term and long-term objectives. The incumbent will serve as an active member of the LEO Canada Commercial Leadership Team (CLT) contributing to strategy development to the affiliate’s growth and profitability.
Role and Responsibilities:
Business Partnering (60%)
Provide financial business partner support to the Commercial organization including:
Leading the coordination of the financial budget, forecast and reporting processes in line with corporate and NA guidance. Recommend strategic and operational plans to ensure best use of resources.
Analyze and monitor the financial performance, including the identification & follow-up on risk and opportunities.
Prepare business financial presentations and analysis for monthly performance reviews (MPR) and business review meetings (BRM) for respective local and regional leadership teams.
Improve decision-making by providing accurate and timely financial information. Advise teams and management of financial trends, variances, and potential actions required to achieve financial objectives.
Aid the organization to manage expenses efficiently. Develop and/or implement systems for processing and tracking expenses in conjunction with departmental plans.
Collaborate closely with Supply Chain and Commercial Excellence team to effectively manage the monthly S&OP meetings to ensure business needs are met. Including the evaluation of wholesaler purchases, sales forecast for production, the review of revenue performance, trends and market conditions.
Provide financial support on strategic objectives including product launches and ad hoc business initiatives. Provide financial support on the evaluation of investments to ensure value maximization.
General Accounting (10%)
Ensure proper reviews and controls are in place to monitor and assess risks around inventory obsolescence, product returns and pricing exposures.
Prepare monthly journal entries related to gross to net (GTN) items, including product return provisions.
Maintain the product listing agreement accruals and monitoring of provincial payments.
Monthly Financial Reporting (30%)
Prepare and analyze the P&L variances between budgets, forecasts and actual results and complete monthly reports.
Review monthly expenses with stakeholders to discuss variance and future expectations.
Co-ordinate timely and accurate submission of key forecasts into planning systems (IBP).
General
Contribute to the development of local pricing and PMPRB submissions.
Promote cost awareness and control as a necessary requirement for a successful business.
Keep current on relevant matters including company business, policy and procedures.
Ensure compliance with relevant SOP’s and company policies and practices
Participate in personal development and training sessions.
Work in a safe manner that does not endanger yourself or co-workers.

Execute other duties as may be required by immediate manager and other members of LEO Pharma Management team as training and experience allow.
Qualifications:
15+ years financial accounting, planning and analysis experience in the pharmaceutical or healthcare related industry.
Designation in a Certified Accounting program.
10+ years effectively managing and leading teams.
Self-motivated with a high degree of initiative and sense of urgency.
Ability to work independently, prioritize multiple projects, and handle tight deadlines.
Project management, tactical planning, and task management skills.
Solid decision-making skills.
Effective communications skills (verbal, written, listening, conveying messages).
Experience in working with MS office in a Windows environment, PowerBI and SAP.
