Responsibilities
The Finance Analyst, Franchise Owned Bottler Operations (FOBO) contributes to PepsiCo Beverages Canada’s success by acting as an integral part of the Canadian Finance team, supporting the Franchise Owned Bottler Operations (FOBO) sales organization. In addition to providing business and analytic support, this position contributes to PBC’s success by proactively monitoring business trends and identifying risks and opportunities to maximize PBC’s business performance. Success in this role will require results-driven behavior, solid organizational skills, intellectual curiosity, strong financial analytical skills, technical strength, interpersonal skills and the ability work both independently and as part of a team.
Key Accountabilities:
- Lead the financial Annual Operating Plan (AOP) development, target setting and execution of financial plans for FOBO Concentrate and Finished Goods P&Ls
- Forecast deviations from AOP/prior forecast on a periodic basis with supporting causes of change and any risks/opportunities highlighted
- Provide insight and analysis into drivers of change for key metrics: volume, trade spend, net revenue, margin contribution (gross margin) and net profitability vs prior year, forecast and plan by FOBO and product/package
- Participate in period end meetings, presenting and explaining discrepancies between forecasted values and actual results.
- Support the Director of Sales, FOBO (DOS) with variety of FOBO work streams including annual funding negotiations as well as negotiating amendments to funding arrangements based on changing retail environments and strategies.
- Support FOBO business partners in developing strong forecasts and funding agreements, while working with their management to ensure strong performance for both PepsiCo and FOBO partners.
- Provide insight and analytics that help the DOS on developing robust FOBO plans that delivers against AOP metrics and accurate Quarterly Business Plan (QBP) forecasts
- Deploy and maintain FOBO reporting for finance as well as the DOS – i.e. Weekly Actuals vs Forecast, Weekly FOBO sales report, etc.
- Manage FOBO funding budgets, forecast spend, track / reconcile, and approve expenditures
- Improve/simplify FOBO finance processes by analysing current tools and systems, and designing and implementing new procedures for more efficient reporting and presentation of results
- Support the successful implementation of SAP for FOBO finance activities
- Assist with ad-hoc and cross-functional projects as required
Qualifications
Qualifications/Requirements:
- University degree in Business or Equivalent Business Experience; Accounting Designation / MBA an asset but not required
- Strong collaboration, interpersonal, verbal and written communications skills.
- Strong organizational skills, technical, problem solving, planning, and analytical skills.
- Experience in analyzing or forecasting Profit and Loss results.
- Strong Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills are a key requirement.
- Previous SAP/Mosaic/Cockpit software experience an asset.
- Bilingual verbal communication skills (French/English) an asset but not required.
