Our Portfolio is searching for a strong Manager, Finance & Internal Controls to join the Portfolio reporting directly to the Director, Finance, Bacchus Portfolio. This role will be accountable for financial reporting, variance analysis, internal controls, and business reviews across all portfolio companies. This is a fully remote role, but the ability to meet in person on an as needed basis in Mississauga is required.

Job Description:

Responsibilities:

  • Review month end and quarter end close deliveries of the Portfolio’s Business Units.
  • Act as primary liaison with Volaris Head Office, interpret and disseminate accounting and reporting updates to the Portfolio finance teams
  • Review acquisition related deliverables to ensure they are completed in accordance with Volaris/Constellation Policies
  • Work with portfolio companies’ finance teams to continue to improve efficiencies related to the financial close process;
  • Train and coach finance teams within the Portfolio to ensure they are equipped to follow financial reporting standards (IFRS);
  • Work with Volaris to enforce adherence to corporate compliance, including contract sign-off rules,

$ 2M revenue recognition reporting, review of monthly account reconciliations and COSO documentation; * Assist businesses to create or review risk-control matrices and ensure compliance by conducting risk-based Business reviews;

  • Assess the design and operational effectiveness of controls in place to manage risks and ensure compliance with Volaris/Constellation policies.

Qualifications & Skills:

Must haves

  • 3 or more years’ progressive experience in a Senior Financial Analyst capacity within an international organization. Software company experience would be an asset
  • CA or CPA designation
  • Strong technical accounting skills
  • Internal audit or risk management/control experience
  • Aptitude for teaching, coaching and mentoring – previous management experience would be an asset
  • Excel, salesforce, data modelling, reporting
  • Positive, high-energy, self-motivated
  • Ability to travel
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Superior project management skills
  • Excellent spoken and written English
  • Ability to effectively communicate with internal and external stakeholders at all organizational levels
