We’re seeking an Advisor, Investment Finance, Analytics Support who will assume a leading role in the development of data and analysis tool for Investment Finance teams. He will participate in the development of the database and the different reporting views of the portfolios. It will help to gather and validate user needs and develop analytical views corresponding to business needs. The incumbent will be called upon to participate and sometimes to animate work sessions with the users, in order to clarify the needs.
ABOUT YOUR ROLE
As an Advisor, Investment Finance, Analytics Support, your responsibilities will include:
Reporting
Lead the evolution of the Finance reporting platform
Design, create and automate quality reporting models and dashboards (with Power BI) in order to facilitate consistent portfolio management reporting
Recommend and implement improvements to increase accuracy, efficiency and productivity of Finance reporting (at the system, data, operation and procedural levels)
Assist in leading work sessions with various teams, develop portfolio views and have a broad vision of the Finance analyses
Provide governance for reporting (reports production, construction, consistency, user understanding) and anticipate changes
Support the current and future Financial information and Management reports
Data Management
Assist with the structure of the data and update analytical methods
Ensure timely update of data metrics and data integrity
Coordinate collaboration between IT teams and Finance to facilitate results and efficiency gains
Business Operations
Active participation in the daily run and month-end process to support the production of the management reports
Act as a business subject matter expert and actively participate to the end-to-end delivery cycle of the solutions to ensure optimal coordination and effective execution (i.e. collecting business needs, performing business analysis, providing guidance/orientations to the technical delivery teams, testing the solution and providing training)
Support the constant evolution of the reporting requirements and business processes via python scripts and/or excel VBA
Prepare adequate documentation on procedures, methodologies, process and controls for operational support
Provide leadership skills by coaching and supporting team members
WHAT YOU’LL NEED
Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, computer science or equivalent
Minimum of seven (7) years of experience in analytics support
Experience in using financial data from investments and financial reports
CFA designation, an asset
Knowledge of Power BI or other BI integrated tool, an asset
Advanced knowledge of any programming language (SQL, Python, etc.), an asset
Bilingualism: English and French (frequent interactions in English with PSP employees based in our offices in Hong Kong, London and New York, and interactions in French with employees in our local offices in Montreal and Ottawa)
Ability to navigate a fast-pace environment with a high level of autonomy
Demonstrated initiative and curiosity to look beyond surface facts and conduct comprehensive, fact-based, value-added research
Analytic mind and rigorous approach to analysis and documentation
Ability to work collaboratively, cultivating meaningful relationships with colleagues
Highly organized, multitasking skills and time management
Adaptability and flexibility
Good understanding of operations related to Private Market investments, an asset
