Role:

Our Client is currently seeking an experienced #100156 IT Data Analytics Specialist (Contract) in Edmonton, AB starting in Jan 2022. This is a 6 month contract with a possibility of extension at the client’s discretion. Work can be remote but must be available for occasional onsite meetings. The ideal candidate will have 8 years’ experience with Advanced Analytical technologies, modern RDBMS (ie SQL Server, Oracle), PowerBI (4yrs), Python programming (3yrs) and developing / maintaining Information products. Previous experience (3yrs) in performing threat and risk assessments and presenting recommendations for risk mitigation would be a strong asset.

General Responsibilities:

  • Utilization of predictive analytics, lifetime value and needs-based analytics strategies to simplify, consistently produce and re-use analytical models and assets to drive measurable value.
  • Provide depth and insight to data produced by the various teams and transform them into meaningful analytics for decision making.
  • Developing and measuring success metrics for key projects.
  • Integration of both quantitative and qualitative data to create business insights.
  • Design and create dashboards and custom reporting with various data sources and inputs.
  • Analyzing data and preparing information results
  • Gathering and documenting client requirements
  • Designing and constructing information products
  • Capturing business and technical metadata for information products
  • Establish and operate control processes including schedule management, status reporting, issues, risk, and change management at the program level.

Mandatory:

  • 8 years’ experience with Advanced Analytical Environment and technologies in an enterprise IT environment.
  • 8 years’ experience developing and maintaining Information products in enterprise IT environment.
  • 8 years’ experience with modern RDBMS, such as SQL Server, and Oracle.
  • 4 years’ experience and technical knowledge of visualization tools, such as Power BI, SAS VA or Tableau.
  • 3 years’ experience with programming languages including Python and R.
  • 3 years’ experience in performing threat and risk assessments and presenting recommendations for risk mitigation to senior management.

Desirable:

  • 5 years’ experience with advanced Business Intelligence architecture and technologies in Microsoft Stack.
  • 2 years’ experience with various advanced analytics methodologies.
  • 3 years’ experience facilitating meetings and interviews.
  • 3 years’ experience in maintenance of a technology roadmap for the enterprise.
  • 1 year’s experience with predictive analytics

Education (Must have one of the following combinations):

  • Degree + 4yr related experience; OR 2-yr diploma + 6-yr related experience; OR certificate + 7-yr related experience.
