Role:

Our Client is currently seeking an experienced #101203 IT Data Architect (Contract) in Edmonton, AB starting on or around Jan 17, 2021. This is a 1 year term with possibility of extension at client’s discretion. The work may be completed remotely but candidate must reside in Alberta for the duration of the project. The ideal candidate will have 10 years experience implementing data management platforms/solutions utilizing data transformation and data orchestration techniques and tools. 6 years’ experience designing, planning, implementing and supporting enterprise data architectures in a complex environment is required.

All candidates must be legally entitled to work in Canada.

General Responsibilities:

• Provide advice and consulting services regarding data management strategies, data architecture, and data.
• Consult with project stakeholders on an ongoing basis.
• Assist in developing project plans, schedules, and estimates pertaining to architectural deployment and services delivery.
• Assist in developing task lists and resource assignments within the context of architectural planning.
• Document technical recommendations; provide technical advice and guidance to management, operations and project team members and within shared IT services.
• Ensure change management processes are followed.
• Make recommendations to project team members pertaining to issues, risks and client satisfaction.

Mandatory (Must have):

• 6 years’ experience designing, planning, implementing and supporting enterprise data architectures in a complex environment.
• 6 years’ experience with Enterprise/Corporate Architecture, and all associated best practices, methods, standards, tools, policies, and processes.
• 5 years’ experience with Azure reference architectures related to data and analytics.
• 10 years’ experience dealing with clients and technical team, and explaining complex data principles in a thoughtful manner.
• 10 years’ experience implementing data management platforms/solutions.
• 6 years’ experience producing implementable blueprints.
• 10 years’ experience with data transformation and data orchestration techniques and tools.

Desirable (Nice to have):

• 5 years’ experience providing leadership, planning, estimating, and presentations of architecture ideas and solutions.
• 3 years’ experience implementing DAMA Functional Framework.
• 3 years’ experience in Agile Projects.
• 1 year experience with Talend Data Fabric.

Education (Must Have one of the following combinations):

• Degree in Business, Management or a related discipline + 6-yr DA experience; OR 2-yr diploma + 8-yr experience; OR 1-yr certificate + 9-yr experience; OR 10-yr DA experience
• Certification in TOGAF
