ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

This is a part time opportunity, and the schedule can be flexible. The successful candidate will be providing administrative and some accounting support to the head office staff.

ABOUT THE POSITION

This position will be based out of their office in Burnaby, conveniently within walking distance from a bus stop. The key responsibilities for this role are:

  • Taking instructions from, and performing clerical and typing duties for, a group of professional and technical staff
  • Processing and assembling a variety of documents
  • Managing client and file information, including establishing and maintaining organizational system to manage both electronic and paper filing
  • Assisting with basic accounts payable and cost coding
  • Greeting all visitors in a warm and welcoming manner
  • Answering calls, emails, difficult client inquiries (whom to send the calls to)
  • Updating and maintaining database records, and opening/closing files as necessary
  • Scheduling and preparing for meetings
  • Managing all incoming and outgoing mail and couriers
  • Tracking office supplies and placing orders as needed
  • Assisting with organizing company events (meetings and lunches)
  • Various ad hoc administrative/accounting tasks as assigned

THE REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum of 1 year of administrative experience
  • Post secondary education in a related field
  • Strong computer skills, specifically in Microsoft Office
  • Superior written communication skills in English, have excellent attention to detail, and the ability to remain calm under pressure and work to tight deadlines
  • Conscientious, approachable, and enthusiastic with a strong focus on ensuring the highest levels of service standards are delivered and maintained
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organization skills
  • The ability and willingness to be flexible and adapt to changing demands and priorities

COMPENSATION

  • $20/hour
  • 2 weeks’ paid vacation
  • Excellent benefits package, eligible after 6 months
