Celebrating 95 years of involvement in the labour community, the IBEW Local 115 is a respected labour organization which helps its members live better, freer and fuller lives. Serving 570 members in the Quinte St. Lawrence region (Belleville – Kingston – Brockville – Cornwall).

IBEW LU 115 Kingston is looking to replace a 20+ year employee who has been a central part of growth, stability, and culture of the Local Union. This role is for someone who wants to live the values and support IBEW LU 115 and their members.

Responsibilities:

• Process payables – (bills, payments)
• Process receivables (invoicing, statements, collections)
• Complete reconciliations – bank
• Prepare monthly financial statements – B/S, I/S
• Prepare materials for year-end financial statements – for annual audit (engagement)
• Process payroll, monthly remittances, ROE processing, and prepare T4 slips
• General Journal Entries, General Ledger Entries
• Government Remittances (payroll, GST/HST, WSIB, EHT)
• Recording day-to-day financial transactions
• Office Management, including equipment and supply monitoring
• Perform electronic and paper-based filing
• Organize office activities and company events
• Other duties and responsibilities that your supervisor assigns
• Member relations and registration/client services
• Manager external resources (cleaners, IT, facilities management/coordination)
• Special projects and events management
• Dues accounting
• Government security clearances for members, as required

Qualifications, Key Attributes, Other:

• Strong skills in accounting, with about five years experience
• College certificate or equal in Simpli Accounting Software
• Excel software skills
• Payroll knowledge
• Good management skills
• General office skills, letter writing, record keeping
• Good people skills – you like interacting with people and members
• CPIC required Signing a confidentiality contract
• Willingness to be cleared to perform Security Clearances
• This is an in-office job first.

Compensation:

• Pay is hourly basis, to be discussed.
• Health and Welfare package includes a Defined Benefit Pension plan after a three (3) month probation period.
• Once through the probationary period of 3 months this position will also become a member with the IBEW.
• Paid holidays and sick days increasing with years of service as per policy.
• Paid lunch hour.
• Office hours are 8am – 4:30pm Monday through Thursday, 8am – 1pm on Fridays.
