About the Opportunity

Currently, Orion Construction is seeking a highly motivated Accounting Assistant to join our team in Langley, BC on a full-time basis. The Accounting Assistant will report to the Director of Finance and will work with the team in facilitating our growth while being responsible for overseeing daily accounting, finance, and office administration responsibilities.

While no two days will be alike in this fast-paced role, your more typical responsibilities will include:

  • Working with the Accounts Payable function and organizing all invoices, statements, and other relevant documentation
  • Gathering approvals and recording invoices for processing
  • Reconciling credit cards and reviewing expense reimbursements to prepare for payment processing
  • Preparing vendor & contractor payments through ERP system and online banking platform
  • Creating new and maintaining existing vendor/contractor records
  • Filing accounting documents, which includes invoices, vendor banking information, vendor credit applications, and other corporate documents
  • Supporting Finance team members and Office Administrator with the month-end close and other ad-hoc projects
  • Managing the general mailbox by responding to finance queries in a timely manner
  • Ensuring compliance with accounting policies, procedures, and controls

More About You

In order to qualify for this role, you will need proven accounting experience in bookkeeping and basic accounting procedures, along with a diploma or relevant certification related to accounting or finance. A combination of education and experience will also be considered. Knowledge of accounting software such as Sage300 CRE and Quickbooks would be an asset, along with strong working knowledge of Excel.
