Job Description

Reporting to the Senior Accountant, the Accounting Clerk is responsible to perform the accounting duties related to ensuring accurate inventory management at the Mississauga Warehouse. The performance of the duties must ensure a quality service approach to all employees, customers and suppliers. All responsibilities must be performed in a manner consistent with the Farm Boy Way.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Match and verify order manifests, signed PODs, invoices and receive reports to purchase orders. Verify pricing, quantities, PLU codes and descriptions.
  • Verify and enter all shipments, cost adjustments, quantity adjustments into the Farm Boy warehouse management system.
  • Communicate clearly with the procurement team to resolve shipment discrepancies.
  • Process invoices into Sage 300 with the correct coding as described in the G/L.
  • Reconcile the Farm Boy WMS system to the G/L in Sage 300.
  • Monitor the delivery of paperwork from the warehouse employees to ensure the timely flow of documentation.
  • Apply inventory cycle counts. Coordinate the recount process with the warehouse. Adjust inventory accordingly and advise the warehouse when inventory is complete. Spot check items on a periodic basis.
  • Print, sort and distribute intercompany shipment claims to various departments for approval. Upon receipt of the accepted or denied claims, process accordingly.
  • Work with all other parts of the finance team to complete tasks.
  • May be requested to undertake other related duties on a periodic basis.

Qualifications

  • Requires a minimum of the completion of a 2-3-year college business administration program with an emphasis in accounting.
  • Willing to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays as required.
  • Ability to multi-task and practice proactive problem solving.
  • Capable of working in a high-volume, tight deadline environment.
  • Must have strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and with minimal supervision.
  • Trustworthy, energetic and enthusiastic.
  • Well-developed computer skills including the use of Microsoft Office with a focus on Excel.
  • Experience using Sage 300 is considered an asset.

Work and Sensory Environment:

  • Stress from open office noise.
  • Sitting for long periods of time at workstations (e.g. while keyboarding).
  • Lack of control over pace due to multiple and/or tight deadlines beyond one’s control.
  • Exposure to eye strain from computer terminals.
