Job description: Robert Half is seeking an Accounting Clerk, whose duties will be matching invoices to purchase orders/ vouchers, data entry, and assisting with Accounts Payable (A/P) and Accounts Receivable (A/R). This is a long-term contract / temporary to hire position located in the Nepean, Ontario area. Do you thrive in an energetic, team-oriented environment? Your responsibilities in this role

– Assist Accounts Payable: vendor invoices and disbursement filing, A/P invoice matching & filing

– Work with Accounts Receivable: process daily invoices/credit, apply cash receipt, and help with collection of past due balance

– Square up discrepancies by checking all possible sources of disagreement, reconstructing probable actions, and recognizing the effect on other accounts; prepare correction documents as required

– General accounting: help with G/L account reconciliation and month-end closing, other ad hoc projects

– Classify documents that require knowledge in determining proper classification of accounting codes and expenditure codes

– Upload financial information to journals and ledgers

– Put together statements and reports that require utilization of an assortment of sources
– Command of numeric data entry

– Proficiency in customer invoices

– Accounts Payable (AP) experience highly desired

– Annual Physical Inventory experience

– Comprehensive knowledge of Purchase Orders

– Spreadsheet and ERP system experience is a plus

– AA or BS/BA in Accounting or related field preferred

– Ability to multitask and communicate well with individuals of all backgrounds

– Ability to enter data into various electronic systems while maintaining the integrity and accuracy of the data
