Job #4123– Our client in the not-for-profit industry is looking for an Accounting Specialist to join them! They are looking for someone who is a strong team player that is comfortable working around the general ledger and building financial reports with Excel. The main responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Maintain records including ledger, journal, invoices and receipts
• Assist in preparing regular accounting activities including generating financial reports, budgets, preparing taxes and resolving any discrepancies
• Assist with the management of funding agreements
• Assist with the review of research application budgets and partner funding
• Manage cash flow, bank accounts and credit cards
• Process payroll and assist with tax documentation

Qualifications

Mandatory:

The main qualifications for this role include:

• Post-secondary education in accounting or finance
• 5+ years’ experience in the accounting field
• Excellent English communication, written & verbal

Definite Assets:

• Familiar with QuickBooks
• Previous experience with payroll
• Experience in a non-profit setting, including contribution agreements

What’s the Bottom Line:

• $65,000 – $85,000 annual salary
• 3 weeks’ vacation plus Christmas shutdown
