Make an impact with our SR&ED Tax team as an Accounting Technician. This diverse team of professionals delivers customized tax strategies within a complex and dynamic regulatory framework. Responsibilities

• Prepare federal and provincial tax returns with tax credit submissions (e.g. SR&ED, E-Business, Multimedia tax credit) including working with Excel spreadsheets to summarize client labour, contract, and material expenses, and taxes owed
• Interact with clients and work collaboratively with Assurance and Tax team members
• Assist clients with CRA and Revenu Quebec audits
• Research and provide analysis on a wide variety of tax issues
• Monitor the entire process from claim until contribution
• Communicate with clients and government agencies
• Plan, organize and execute engagements on time and on budget, with an attention to detail
• Attend internal MNP courses to further develop accounting and taxation knowledge

Skills and Experience

• Post-secondary education in accounting or another relevant field
• Bilingual is a strong asset (French/English)
• Good written and verbal communication skills to interface with clients and team members
• Genuine motivation to help clients and willingness to learn and grow the position
• Ability to work independently, as well as part of a cross-functional team
• Experience in an accounting and/or client service environment is preferred – e.g. bookkeeping, preparation of financial statements/corporate tax returns is a strong asset
• Experience working with accounting and tax software is considered an asset – such as CaseWare, TaxPrep, Profile and Tax Cycle
• Strong computer literacy including advanced working skills of Excel, Microsoft Word, Outlook and PowerPoint
