Job Details

Position Title: Accounting Tutor

Status: Regular Part-time Support

Hours: 24 hours per week

Faculty/Department: Longo Faculty of Business

Campus/Location: North Campus

Salary: $19.73

What you will do:

The Accounting Tutor provides assistance with problem-solving and class assignments to students enrolled in all accounting courses at both the diploma and degree levels. Specific responsibilities include development and delivery of one-on-one group tutorials; preparing students for testing; using creativity and initiative in reaching out to students to help them identify areas for academic improvement; as well as providing assistance to individual students in identifying the knowledge and strengths that each student can use when problem solving. The incumbent also co-ordinates, supports activities in the Accounting Centre.

Qualifications

What you bring to the role:

Education

The successful candidate will hold a 3-year diploma or degree from a recognized educational institution in the area of accounting.

Experience & Skills

Minimum of two years of significant work experience in the accounting tutoring field.

  • the successful candidate will demonstrate initiative, strong written and oral communication skills
  • The ability to work in a diverse, dynamic, multicultural environment with scarce resources, mediation skills, commitment to teamwork.
  • A high degree of attention and focus to detail
  • Experience in the use of computerized accounting software/programs (Sage 300, Sage 50, Quick Books and Profile), and the potential to assume broader administrative responsibilities.
