Role Summary:

This role provides a broad range of administrative services to the Group Disability team. The successful candidate will be an innovative thinker with superior organizational and PC skills.

Main Accountabilities:

  • Answer all incoming calls
  • Manage customer inquiries including, but not limited to, resolving customer issues/complaints
  • Redirect calls to appropriate areas and/or staff, as required
  • Provide administrative support to the Directors and Managers
  • Coordinate appointments and manage scheduling conflicts
  • Schedule meetings/reserve meeting locations/order equipment catering, as required
  • Make travel arrangements
  • Expense reporting
  • Prepare presentations for internal and external clients
  • Coordinate materials for office orientation and set up for new employees, including preparation of training schedules and agendas
  • Report on Regional PCard statements, ensuring information is kept accurate
  • Handle purchase coordinator duties, including preparing cheque requisitions
  • Record keeping and maintenance of electronic filing systems, as required
  • Order and manage department supplies including promotional items
  • Participate in 4/DB Social Committee (P4 Ambassador)
  • Other related ad hoc projects as required

Competencies:

  • Ability to work independently with minimal direction and/or supervision
  • Ability to remain task-oriented despite frequent interruptions
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment and balance competing priorities
  • Excellent PC skills (Windows, Excel, Word, Powerpoint and Lotus Notes)
  • Strong organizational skills and time management skills
  • Ability to promptly learn new PC programs and develop new PC skills
  • Team player with a willingness to contribute and help others
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to interact diplomatically with people at all levels of the organization

The Base Pay range is for the primary location for which the job is posted. It may vary depending on the work location of the successful candidate or other factors. In addition to Base Pay, eligible Sun Life employees participate in various incentive plans, payment under which is discretionary and subject to individual and company performance. Certain sales focused roles have sales incentive plans based on individual or group sales results.
