Job description: Your Opportunity:
The Administrative Support V (ASV) coordinates the department’s residency training program. The ASV must possess a thorough understanding of the requirements, policies, and procedures of the residency program. The position has an administrative responsibility for learners in different levels of a program or defined sections. The ASV provides planning, policy, and human resources support services for residents, as well as administrative support for the educational programs within the Department. Follows the policies and procedures of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (RCPSC), the University, the Zone and the Department, Section and or Division. This position is the first point of contact among the educational program, the Department, Section, Division or Program Director. The incumbent must demonstrate a sound understanding of the education program and its curriculum, working independently with minimal supervision on diverse tasks that require a broad range of knowledge and skills. Develops/initiates changes to procedures and practices, and exercises decision making. The ASV interacts positively with all members of the AHS and University’s constituent groups and community members with a high level of professionalism. Must have the ability to act independently and exercise judgment in the execution of learner related inquiries. Self-directed and able to work with minimal supervision, be able to multitask in a fast-paced environment and possess the ability to manage multiple projects with frequent interruptions. Careful attention to detail is critical in ensuring adherence to timelines, proper flow of correspondence, as well as planning/coordination of major events.

Required Qualifications:
Completion of post-secondary education (e.g. certificate in office or business administration). Additional Required Qualifications:
Advanced proficiencies with various computer applications including Outlook Calendar and Email, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Internet experience. Strong organizational skills are essential to meet deadline and manage multiple projects. Flexibility is required to assist with occasional events outside of regular office hours. Preferred Qualifications:
Three-five years experience in a medical administrative assistant role. Proficiency in writing correspondence and proof reading. Working knowledge of ARIA, AXON, Netcare and Connect Care would be an asset. Relevant experience within oncology would be preferable.
