Medical Affairs manages the areas of healthcare administration that are specific to physicians and other AHS practitioners. The Calgary Zone Medical Affairs team has over 3600 Medical staff to support the healthcare of 1.3 million Albertans. As the Administrative Support V, you will provide specialized administrative clerical support to organize and coordinate the clinical, educational, research and administrative duties of the Department Head of Cardiac Sciences. The role requires strong administrative support skills, careful judgment and active knowledge of priorities and current issues to be successful. Superior communication and problem solving skills are necessary to manage and resolve complex and confidential situations where impact of error could be high.
Description:
As an Administrative Support V, you will require advanced administrative or specialized skills and knowledge to support complex procedures, practices and initiatives within a department or program.

Required Qualifications:
Completion of post-secondary education (e.g. certificate in office or business administration). Additional Required Qualifications:
Post-secondary Medical Office Assistant or graduate of a recognized business/secretarial administrative program. Minimum three years of administrative experience in a multidisciplinary health care administrative area. Intermediate/Advanced computer skills with demonstrated recent use and/or training in Microsoft Office and Outlook. Proficient typing skills with 60 WPM+ (test may be administered). Excellent communication skills – written and oral. Preferred Qualifications:
5 years’ experience in a subspecialty, acute care setting providing administrative support to a physician and/or specific Cardiac experience. Awareness of organizational policies and procedures. Ability to foster and promote teamwork, collaboration and partnership.
