This position is working in our IT Renewals Team within Vendor Management Office in our Digital & Information Technical (D&IT) group, and is accountable for executing, monitoring and maintaining many of the IT Renewal processes. With mentorship from the Vendor Management & IT Renewals Team Lead and D&IT leadership, you will contribute to the enhancement of current IT Renewals processes and drive continuous improvement and operational excellence.

You will use your expertise to:

  • Manage, coordinate and facilitate software and hardware maintenance and support renewals in collaboration with application business/product owners, SCM and other personnel with a focus on license compliance and cost optimization
  • Work with Vendor Management team members, D&IT stakeholders and service partners to support software license analysis and license costs budgeting and forecasting
  • Establish positive relationships with people and teams across D&IT, SCM, business units, software publishers, vendors, resellers and service partners
  • Establish, maintain and provide metrics and other reporting requirements related to IT renewals, licensing information or other data as identified
  • Perform data extraction & analysis and provide summaries and recommendations as requested by D&IT leadership
  • Act as a subject matter expert and contributor in projects and activities related to IT renewal, planning & forecasting

Must-haves (minimum requirements):

  • Two years of experience in software and hardware purchasing, maintenance and licensing renewals
  • A post-secondary education in related disciplines such as computer science, finance, and/or procurement or equivalent experience
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) and SAP
  • Excellence written and verbal communications skills with the demonstrated ability to communicate effectively at multiple levels of leadership and across a variety of audiences
  • A team oriented attitude with an eagerness to learn and seek knowledge and understanding
  • Solid analytical skills and experience, coupled with strong planning, organization and prioritization skills and a strong attention to detail

Preference for:

  • An ITIL, CSAM or IAITAM certification

Where you’ll be working, your work schedule, and other important information:

  • You will work out of our Calgary head office, located in the Suncor Energy Centre at 150 – 6th Ave S.W.
  • Hours of work are a regular 40-hour work week, Monday to Friday, with the potential for extended work hours based on business needs
