Reporting to the Head Football Coach, the Director of Player Personnel & Camp Coordinator of the Gryphon Football Program helps to lead the Department’s most highly visible OUA and U Sports program.

The Director of Player Personnel & Camp Coordinator helps support all phases of a U Sports program, including, but not limited to: recruitment and retention of academically qualified student-athletes; overall program administration; annual and quadrennial planning, player development plans; player and program evaluation, community and alumni relations; team building; practice planning and execution; game preparation including video and data analysis; delivery of the technical aspects of coaching; budget management; equipment and supplies purchasing; and strict compliance with OUA/U Sports policies and procedures and rules and regulations.

The Director of Player Personnel & Camp Coordinator will be responsible for the implementation, development, and execution of a national recruiting strategy. This includes duties related to identification, communication, and relationship building throughout the year (12 months). In addition, the Director of Player Personnel, Camp Coordinator will be responsible for coordinating with our Integrated Support Team (i.e., Strength and Conditioning Coach & Athletic Therapist) to develop and monitor the development of the current student-athletes. These duties will include the off-season programming (e.g., strength and conditioning, training of fundamental skills, tactical skill development, academic progress), and include coordinating the respective position coaches within the program.

In addition, the Director of Player Personnel, Camp Coordinator will also oversee all Gryphon Football Camps. They will play an integral role in the sport-specific Gryphon Camp program. The incumbent is responsible for organizing facility bookings, supply acquisition, training programs and marketing/promotions. The Director of Player Personnel, Camp Coordinator will also serve as one of the primary administrative team members for Gryphon Football, supporting other areas as identified by the Head Coach – Football.

The successful candidate will have:

  • Undergraduate degree and National Coach Certification Program (NCCP) Level III coaching certification or equivalent, and experience coaching at the high performance level (University, professional, etc.)
  • Knowledge of and commitment to Safe Sport practices, transformational coaching, OUA/U Sports rules and regulations, and the student athlete experience
  • Commitment to excellence
  • Superior organizational and communication skills
  • Strong team building and conflict management skills
  • Proficient knowledge and expertise of current digital technology coaching tools
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Understanding and appreciation of the University’s unique environment, as well as an ability to adhere to University and Department expectations, policies, and regulations
