Job description: Job Summary

The Audio/Video Coordinator reports directly to the Manager, IT Operations but will work with several teams across the organization, to ensure that our digital signage technology delivers positive experiences for all guests of the Canadian Tire Centre (CTC).

Possessing technical knowledge in computer networking, data and graphics files, and video encoding, and strong communications skills, the Audio/Video Coordinator ensures that the right information is displayed at the correct locations at the correct times.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure that digital displays at the CTC are working properly at all times.
  • Work with event coordinators to plan and design the best digital signage setup for various events at the CTC, including Ottawa Senators games and concerts.
  • Work with the Facilities team to replace or update existing digital displays or connect new digital displays to LAN.
  • Troubleshoot digital display hardware issues.
  • Upload content into our content management systems (CMS) and create/schedule content playlists in preparation for events.
  • Edit or update CMS scripts as necessary (training will be provided).
  • Edit or modify images and video content as required.
  • Perform pre-event walkthroughs before each event to ensure that content, scripts, and playlists in CMS are set up correctly.
  • Be present at events to ensure smooth operation and perform required troubleshooting.
  • Become our subject matter expert on digital signage technologies and platforms and propose new technologies or new configurations of existing technologies.
  • Ensure CMS software is properly up-to-date, secure, and patched.
  • Support and troubleshoot video display and video conferencing technology.

Requirements

Minimum Requirements

  • A college diploma (or equivalent) in Video Broadcasting, Computer Networking, Digital Communications, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience with LAN/WAN design, administration, and troubleshooting.
  • Experience writing procedural scripts such as PowerShell, Python, or JavaScript.
  • Strong stakeholder/relationship management skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational, prioritization, and time management skills.
  • Demonstrated experience parsing and editing data files such as XML and JSON.
  • Experience using image and video editing software such as Adobe Creative Suite.

Additional Qualifications

  • Experience with digital signage platforms such as Cisco Stadium Vision, TriplePlay, Navori, Yodeck, RISE, or Reach Media.
  • Experience with video broadcasting or video encoding and transmission.
  • Functional experience working in the Sports & Entertainment or Hospitality industries.
  • Experience with commercial audio/visual systems such as conference rooms, broadcasting, or performance spaces.
