Part of the LCI Education network, LaSalle College is the largest bilingual college in North America. It includes six specialized schools, including Fashion, Arts and Design; VFX and Video Games; Human Sciences and Techniques; Management and Technology; Hospitality and Tourism as well as an online training school and offers more than 60 programs related to these schools.

The School of Human Sciences and Techniques is looking for lecturers for its programs. The skills and concepts taught in this program include

– Intervening with youth with learning and language difficulties.

– Develop intervention strategies for clients with learning and language difficulties or disorders. They will learn to detect a problematic situation.

– Interact with clients from ethnic and cultural communities different from their own.

– Interpersonal communication, communication techniques, verbal and non-verbal communication and the relationship between emotions and communication.

– Compiles information necessary to describe client behavior. Learns to observe and collect information to analyze and interpret client behavior.

– Seeks out resources and services in the community.

RESPONSIBILITIES

– Plan class sessions;

– Deliver sessions in a dynamic, effective and structured manner

– Design formative and summative evaluations using a competency-based approach;

– Administer and correct evaluations;

– Follow-up on each student and encourage success;

– Be available to students in order to promote their development of the competency targeted by the course;

– Any other related duties.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

You must be legally entitled to work in Canada and must meet one of the following criteria

– Have a university degree or college diploma, with an option or concentration in the relevant discipline;

– Have worked in a trade or profession related to the discipline or course for at least two (2) years;

– Teaching experience is an asset.

PERSONAL AND PROFESSIONAL SKILLS

Courses are offered during the day. We are looking for creative professionals with demonstrated expertise in their field who are willing to share their knowledge. Bilingualism and teaching experience are major assets.
