About the Opportunity
- Prepare and oversee the production of the monthly operating statements
- Assist the executive team in the preparation and execution of the year end process
- Develop and maintain the general ledger accounts
- Develop operational reports as required by senior management
- Review cheque runs for accuracy and completeness
- Undertake detailed analysis covering operational and financial performance of the various programs and departments
- Responsible for ensuring timely and accurate statutory reporting requirements
- Provide leadership to direct reports through support and coaching leading to high motivation and strong performance (including performance evaluations)
- Keep current with CRA and government policy regulations in the charitable sector
- Develop and ensure the effective implementation of appropriate accountability mechanisms through financial policies, processes and forecast monitoring
- Support the VP, Finance and Administration with reporting requirements to the Board of Directors
About You
- University degree in business, finance, or accounting
- Professional Accounting Designation (CPA)
- Minimum of seven (7) years’ related experience at the manager level
- Not-for-profit experience required, preferably in the charitable sector
- Excellent working knowledge of QuickBooks (or similar accounting software)
- Knowledge of Sales force (or similar customer relationship management software) is an asset
- Sound analytical, financial. supervisory and administrative skills
- Strong business sense and demonstrated ability to understand business needs
- Excellent interpersonal and relationship building/management skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Demonstrates ability to interact with all levels of management
- Strong written, verbal and presentation skills
Pay Rate
$45/hour
