Job description: The Corporate Accounting Manager is responsible for completing and overseeing full cycle accounting and reporting duties including leading the period end consolidation and month end close, reviewing journal entries and account reconciliations performed by the Regional finance teams, ensuring consistent application of key accounting policies as per IFRS, and responsible for diligently maintaining a clean Balance Sheet and Trial Balance. They work with the Regional Finance teams to ensure key reporting timelines are met, act as a subject matter expert for accounting policy, and validate application of key accounting policies.

What you will do as the Corporate Accounting Manager:

· Maintain the full accounting records of all business units/legal entities ensuring accuracy of financial reporting. Completeness, accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting is paramount.

· Manage the consolidation of all financial reporting at the Corporate level

· Refine the Intercompany accounting framework, ensuring that all Intercompany activity is identified, accounted for, and eliminated appropriately, both within the Business Unit as well as at the Spark Consolidated level

· Develop and maintain a system of internal controls under which to ensure that all business risks are identified and mitigated in a cost-effective manner.

· Support and maintain the key financial accounting and reporting systems (ie. NetSuite and Adaptive)

· Educate and mentor staff and peers on accounting policies, internal controls, and maintenance of the Balance Sheet.

· Support the Corporate Controller with any other applicable requirements.

· Any other duties as assigned.

What you bring to Spark:

• In-depth knowledge of IFRS
• Proficiency with Excel and Microsoft applications
• Experience with Netsuite will be considered an asset
• Strong attention to detail
• Strong analytical and organizational skills; ability to prioritize and meet deadlines
• Experience in a publicly traded company will be considered an asset
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbally
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment with expected growth

• Experience – 5+ years of experience in an Accounting Manager position
• Education – Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field
• Professional Accounting designation – CPA or equivalent
• License – Valid driver’s license
