Your Role
As Crop Inputs General Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for providing direction and leadership to the management of specific crop inputs locations in Ontario. This position will report to the Director of Operations, Eastern Canada, and works closely with Crop Inputs Product Line Managers, and location staff, specifically sales and operations teams.
Day to Day
- Provide direction in the operation of the crop inputs locations within the territory, ensuring facilities are safe and effective
- Develop and execute business plans and strategies for each location
- Identify new customer opportunities and engage in direct sales
- Work with Sales Consultants to successfully link sales targets with annual budget
- Establish and implement performance management plans for multiple locations, track and align performance goals with business objectives
- Identify training programs for employees and managers’ skill development
- Lead financial aspects of operations, including annual budget development and monthly P&L statement reviews
- Work in partnership with managers on administrative responsibilities
- Foster a collaborative and respectful environment by engaging with other departments
Required Qualifications
- Post-secondary in an Ag-related, Science or Business field
- 5-7 years’ experience in agriculture, sales, and chemical inputs
- Strong background in customer service and sales techniques, including negotiation
- Experience managing people or teams
- Thorough knowledge of operating a crop inputs and grain business and related decisions
- Skilled in the use of Microsoft 365 Application Suite (Word, Excel)
- Must be able to travel
