Although primarily known around the world for its popular French fries and frozen appetizers, McCain is more than just a food company. Having become heavily invested and involved in digital agriculture, vertical farming, and expansion through acquisition, McCain has embarked on a digital transformation. Data & Analytics is a key enabler; we are making significant investments into our technological capabilities and policies to increase the quality of our data, the confidence of our teams to use this data to make decisions and drive value through the use of data.

We have a new and ambitious global Data & Analytics group, which serves as a resource to teams in our regions and global functions. To support this group and develop the next generation of well-rounded leaders, we have initiated a two-year rotational program and are currently recruiting analytics and business savvy professionals to join the Analytics Rotational Program within the Global Analytics team.

HOW THE PROGRAM WORKS:

The Analytics Rotational Program is designed to give those who are early in their career the opportunity to work with upto four different business areas within the Analytics function over a span of two-years. With each rotation lasting six months, the Rotational Analytics Analyst will have the chance to gain experience working in the Commercial, Agriculture, Manufacturing, and Supply Chain streams. Within each rotation, the analyst will work alongside team members on hands-on projects, combining both business and technical skills to help build data-driven solutions that aid in more efficient operations and informed decision making for the respective business functions. After completing the program, the analyst will have the opportunity to join one of the four teams of the rotation, based on their performance, preferences, and business needs at the time.

The Analytics Analyst will be part of a dynamic, multi-disciplinary team that brings together individuals with a wide range of experiences in business and technology. As such, this role requires both good business knowledge to understand the needs and problems facing the business, and technical knowledge of what’s possible from data and digital tools to address them. This role plays an important pivot point between our Data Technology team and the business teams, who we are working with to find ways to drive insights-led decision making.

WHAT TO EXPECT AS A ROTATIONAL ANALYTICS ANALYST:

  • Support data and analytics projects, which may include but not limited to developing and deploying analytics solutions, assessing requests from regional teams, data modelling, visuals/dashboard development, etc.
  • Work with internal stakeholders to help define business needs and find appropriate solution, leveraging existing digital tools
  • Develop documentation of digital solutions for future users and change management
  • Identify opportunities for enhancing existing solutions and improving current processes
  • Offer creative and innovative data-led solutions to business problems
  • Work with Data Analysts, Data Scientists, Data Engineers and Technology team to execute analytics models, testing and delivery to production
  • Continue to modernize data reporting / dashboards to improve adoption and usage

SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE WILL SHOW:

  • Strong interest in working across functional teams within the Data & Analytics group
  • Analytical mind-set and demonstrated success in executing analytical work with big data
  • Ability to think creatively to assess and address business problems
  • Ability to connect the dots between business needs and technology-driven solutions
  • Knowledge and experience working with data to drive decision making
  • Strong awareness of data best practices and what’s possible with rich data
  • Team-player attitude and openness to support varied projects and learn outside of comfort zone
  • Self-starter qualities and desire to work independently as well as collaboratively
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to build compelling narratives with data
  • Ability to “get hands dirty” and mock-up dashboards, analyze data, review code, or consult with Technology colleagues on technical requirements

KEY QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCES:

  • A bachelor’s or Masters/MS/MSc degree in either Business, Management, Economics, STEM
  • 1-3 years of relevant experience
  • Knowledge or experience working with commonplace analytics techniques/models
  • Experience with Microsoft Power BI and/or other data visualization tools
  • Knowledge of programming languages and tools like Python, R, SAS, Excel VBA, SQL, etc.
  • Nice to have: Knowledge of data warehousing, data modeling and business intelligence/rules design concepts and toolsets
  • Eager and curious to learn!
