Overview
We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced individual to join us as Director IT, Business Office. Reporting to the VP, IT Business Partnerships you will lead a team of Enterprise Architects, Concept Designers, Process Architects, Business Analysts and Portfolio Analysts to help deliver business outcomes through technology enablement.
This role can be based out of one our main offices including: Stellarton, NS; Montreal, QC; Mississauga, ON.
Job Description
As the Director IT, Business Office with Sobeys you will be responsible for:
Enterprise Architecture
- Develop the overall technology strategy, as well as the standards and guidelines ensuring the IT strategy is being implemented consistently and sustainably.
Business Analysis, Concept Development and Process Architecture Services
- Provide leadership to teams of Business Analysts, Concept Developers and Process Architects to help clearly articulate business needs thru requirements, user stories, process and visualizations as required. Ensure industry standard practices / methodologies are in place to produce quality deliverables and first-time right understanding of business needs.
Strategy & Planning
- Define the overall IT strategic direction and roadmap translating all elements of the business’ vision and objectives into technology priorities. Perform on-going and regular reviews to monitor benefits realization.
IT Performance Management
- Work closely with EMPO, Finance and all IT teams to report on IT performance metrics. Suggest opportunities for improvement. Produce KVI reports along with progress reports for broad business communications.
Talent, Learning & Development
- Collaborate with HR, Training and Development teams to define and implement processes for employee development.
Vendor Management
- Work with Strategic Sourcing, provide leadership and governance to build strategic relationships within the technology ecosystems to realize value.
Key Capabilities & Owns
- Accountable for establishing the IT strategic roadmap, architectural guiding principles and compliance.
- Responsible for overall financial, quality and performance management across the IT Organization.
Job Requirements
What your experience and resume will demonstrate the following:
- An undergraduate or master’s degree in Computer Science or Business
- 10+ years of relevant experience
- 3+ years of people leadership
- Forward looking, research driven and strong business acumen along with the ability to influence change
- Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment
- Strong communication, collaboration and negotiation skills
- Experience defining and understanding business processes using various tools and techniques
- Bilingualism (English and French) considered an asset.
