You’re a seasoned IT professional who has driven significant change across complex organizations. You understand that the key to a successful IT department is consistency and commitment and you don’t stop until a task is complete. You are a true leader of the people, you model by example, and have the proven ability to steer employees toward the achievement of business goals, inspire them, drive change, and deliver results. You plan appropriate strategies to arrive at solutions and you prioritize by establishing a ‘task hierarchy’ to complete duties in order of importance. You handle situations quickly and efficiently and lead through influence.

Your prior experience influencing key stakeholders and managing the cross-functional projects of a large organization will provide you with the industry work experience to support all Canfor Operations across Canada and the United States. Utilizing your extensive background in the IT industry, you will investigate and propose high-level technical recommendations to ensure that the solutions designed by collaborating technical teams best meet the requirements of Canfor operations. You will work with leadership and counterparts across Canfor to develop a manufacturing technology roadmap to ensure the evolution of production mill IT systems and infrastructure.

This is a business relationship management role where you will utilize your interpersonal communication skills as you collaborate with management and executives, build productive relationships, and ensure the efficient and secure integration of IT and OT solutions. You will build and maintain relationships with the operations team at executive and management levels. These key relationships, coupled with a knowledge of the lumber industry, will help to ensure a focus on understanding business and production requirements, championing their translation into highly effective solutions and services. We are striving toward alignment in all our manufacturing technologies, and we need you to lead the change.

You’ll show up armed with an education benefiting a Senior IT executive along with extensive IT and business/industry work experience. Exposure to working in the forest products industry and knowledge of cloud and on-premise server infrastructure would be considered significant assets.
