Our client, Ultimate Home Comfort, has been selling propane for over 15 years and today have a very successful propane delivery business. Beginning in 1996 in a 1200 sq. foot showroom, Ultimate Home Comfort has developed their business to the point where they now have a 4500 sq. foot showroom with over 70 “Best of the Best” products on display. They have also expanded into the HVAC business with the same passion and excellence they offer in their other business services. We are excited to partner with them in looking for a Director of Finance to join their growing team.

Reporting to the owner, the Director of Finance will play a critical role in driving the financial success of the company’s retail operations. You will be responsible for overseeing all financial activities, providing strategic financial guidance, and contributing to the overall growth and profitability of the business.

Responsibilities will include:

• Managing the timely and accurate completion of financial statements monthly, quarterly and annually.
• Working with the existing management team and the owner to develop and implement monthly, quarterly and annual financial objectives.
• Serving as the key budget person to develop an annual budget working from the net profit objective backwards to come up with an achievable plan for the company’s results.
• Holding others accountable for inventory levels, operating expenses, margins and other cost and revenue initiatives to meet the budgeted plan.
• Increasing cash flow and ensuring all cash entering the company is maximized.
• Ensuring the optimal profitability of the corporation.
• Developing models and projections to estimate what finances will look like over the course of the year.
• Making recommendations for improving policies and systems in place.
• Performing financial analysis of the company’s various operations to maximize profitability.
• Developing and monitoring objectives for the financial department.
• Creating policies that allow each department to work optimally.
• Appointing managers and senior team leaders within the financial department.
• Handling negotiations for mergers, acquisitions, and the establishment of new divisions within the company.
• Allocating company funds accordingly to ensure each department can function at an optimal pace.
• Determining realistic goals and establishing financial controls to maintain maximum productivity.
• Managing and overseeing all financial affairs for the organization.

The ideal candidate will possess:

• CPA designation.
• Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, business administration, or a related field.
• 5-10 years of experience in a similar role.
• Strong understanding of retail operations, including inventory management, pricing strategies, and customer behavior.
• Proven track record in financial planning, budgeting, and analysis, with the ability to translate data into actionable insights.
• Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across different teams.
• Proficiency in financial software and systems
• Demonstrated experience in driving process improvements and optimizing financial performance.
• Operate with a high level of integrity, honest and reliability.
