Job description: This gaming tech company is seeking a skilled and experienced Director of Finance to join their dynamic team in Montreal. They are a leading SaaS platform that caters to video game owners, primarily desktop games, helping them with user acquisition and achieving their market objectives. The company has experienced significant growth and success, becoming one of the most prominent CPA Networks in the desktop gaming market.

Reporting directly to the CEO, the Director of Finance will oversee all financial aspects of the business, guide the company’s financial strategy and planning, and oversee the financial operations and output of all departments to better execute the goals and objectives of the company.

TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage day-to-day accounting activities are performed with high quality standards, in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Oversee cash flow and working capital management, and ensure proper planning (budget, forecast, actual) of products unit costs, inventories, capex and expenses.
  • Monitor and analyze monthly operating results against budget.
  • Report to the CEO and other leadership members on KPIs regarding standard accounting activities, ongoing projects, and continuous improvement.
  • Prepare and present condensed and executive financial information for both the executives and business partners.
  • Challenge current processes and ways of workings to bring improvements.
  • Manage and optimize R&D credits and other available programs.
  • Conduct a review of controls and, in partnership with the internal controls team, improve internal controls through the implementation of new controls.
  • Participate in the improvement of financial reporting for internal purposes and for board meetings.
  • Leverage financial software, automation, and data analytics to improve financial reporting, forecasting, and decision-making.
  • Regularly evaluate financial processes and practices, identify areas for improvement, and implement changes to increase efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Keep up to date with changes in financial regulations, industry best practices, and market trends to ensure the organization’s financial practices remain relevant and compliant.
  • Monitor and analyze labor costs: Track and analyze labor costs, including wages, benefits, and taxes, to identify trends, optimize resource allocation, and support budgeting and forecasting processes. Collaborate with other departments to manage headcount and staffing plans effectively.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • You have a bachelor’s degree in accounting.
  • You hold a professional accountant designation (CPA).
  • You possess an excellent knowledge of cost accounting and financial cycle in technology context.
  • You possess effective collaboration, influencing & communications skills.
  • You are energetic, driven and results oriented.
  • You possess strong business acumen and strategic thinking.
  • You have excellent spoken and written communications skills in English and French
  • Knowledge of BI tools would be a definite asset.
