This position reports to the Senior Supervisor, Mine Maintenance Engineering and Capital Projects.

What you will do:

  • Provide Controls and Electrical technical support to Project Managers and personnel executing capital and non-routine electrical work.
  • Provide technical direction for and review of studies, reports, estimates, quotes, codes and specifications.
  • Working closely with the maintenance electrical department.
  • Collaboratively work with Maintenance, Operations, and Hoist/Shaft teams to develop, support, and accomplish personal, team, and site goals
  • Determine initial scope development of electrical and control related projects for future years in order to assist in the development of the long term capital plan for the site.
  • Coordinate with drafting, project managers, in-house support and external contractors as applicable to achieve desired results.
  • Verify completed electrical installations to ensure conformance to design and equipment specifications.
  • Professionally carry out duties following Nutrien Safety principles and priorities
  • Provide a safe workplace by ensuring all site policies and procedures are stringently adhered to
  • Participate in reviews and approvals of work procedures and policies
  • Completion of MOC (Management of Change) tasks as required
  • Work with the training department to ensure mandatory training is completed and updated in Success Factors
  • Support Continuous Improvement projects
  • Support TSASK reporting and inspections

What you will bring:

  • Electrical Engineering degree with a minimum of 5 years experience and must be registered with APEGS
  • or Electrical Engineering diploma with a minimum of 7 years experience and must be registered with SASTT.
  • Experience with below is preferred:
  • PLC/DCS Controls experience with Rockwell and Wonderware preferred
  • Low, Medium, and High (600v to 25kv) voltage power systems and power distribution skids
  • VFD configuration and specification experience
  • Strong understanding of common communication protocols
  • Cisco switch configuration experience
  • Work with Microsoft report Builder and VBA
  • Experience with below considered an Asset:
  • Engineering, maintenance, project, and/or operations experience at an operating facility or a heavy industrial site
  • Experience in Project Management
  • A working knowledge of ETAP

  • Ability to mitigate workplace hazards

  • Ability to work with Electrical and Technical Journeypersons to support and execute field required tasks
  • Superior interpersonal, teamwork and communication skills are essential
  • Ability to work with multiple tasks, prioritize and develop sound time lines
  • Ability to be part of rotational ‘On Call’ support schedule
  • Working knowledge of computer tools (Word, Excel, SAP)
