Ritchie Bros. is looking for an Equipment Inventory Clerk to join our team at Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. This is a permanent full time position.
The Opportunity:
Our Equipment Inventory Clerk is a part of our Detailed Equipment Information (DEI) team. Reporting to the Equipment Manager, this role is ideal for someone ‘hands-on’, who enjoys working with customers, and who has an eagle eye for detail.
In this role you’ll:
- Be the first point of contact for customer questions and issues related to the heavy equipment inventory.
- Administer shipping & receiving documents related to the movement of the equipment to and from the auction site, and enter related information into the appropriate software systems.
- Accurately identify equipment serial numbers, record basic equipment descriptions and label the equipment correctly.
- Promote a culture where the health and safety of our employees and customers is top priority for all.
- Provide assistance as required to the rest of the Detailed Equipment Inspection (DEI) Team.
- Gather and verify equipment inventory information (eg. contract proofs, equipment additions, serial numbers, etc.).
- Identify and record equipment components, accessories and asset details.
- Verify equipment descriptions, based on our Equipment Standards Manual.
- Ensure the quality of equipment data and other related information.
- Proactively adding equipment to a contract at check-in point.
- Compose and take photos of the equipment.
- Assist the Sales team with appraisals and write-ups in the field between peak periods, as required.
- Actively support the RB Unreserved Commitment to Safety: to send everyone home, every day, the way they came to work, by taking personal responsibility for your safety and safety of your team, co-workers and customers.
Here’s what you bring:
- 1 to 2+ years of Administrative Support experience
- High school graduate. Any post-secondary education is an asset.
- Knowledge of — or the desire to learn about — construction equipment and trucks.
- Proficient with computers and good working knowledge / experience using MS Office Suite products (e.g. Word, Excel). Documentation processing experience is an asset.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- You must be process-oriented and comfortable adhering to company policies and procedures to be successful in this role.
- Strong customer service orientation. You have a natural ease dealing with customers.
- Excellent organisational skills. You’re the type that leaves no detail unattended.
- Ability to adapt to shifting priorities, demands and timelines.
- Highly motivated, goal-oriented and self-directed, and able to work independently, as well as collaboratively. You thrive working as part of a team and pitch-in wherever needed.
