Job description: SBM is currently seeking a Finance Administrator in our London Office. Under the supervision of the Finance Manager and with direction from the Accountants Receivable Administrator this candidate will be responsible for support the finance team by managing AR collections and other finance duties. The candidate will also be the back-up for the invoicing lead (Accounts Receivable Administrator).

SBM has offices in London and Kitchener, providing engineering services to a variety of private and public sector clients across Southwestern Ontario. The firm employs over 120 engineers, engineering trainees, technologists, technicians, planners, and administrative personnel.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and lead SBM’s AR collections.
  • Collect and organize incoming mail.
  • Manage SBM’s paper filing system in relation to finance and accounting.
  • Consult third party legal collections agent in regards to delinquent accounts.
  • Provide support for the Accounts Receivable administrator with invoicing and entering payments in accounting program.
  • Manage incoming invoices received via mail or electronically
  • Input into SBM’s accounting system and determine appropriate accounts in consultation with SBM’s team
  • Pull and develop reports as required for the Finance Manager.
  • Other tasks as assigned by the Finance Team or Principal-in-Charge

Skills/Qualifications:

  • Completion or post-secondary education required, preference for Diploma in Business – Finance, Accounting or Bookkeeping.
  • Minimum 1 year experience in a data entry, bookkeeping or finance role required.
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook and Teams) and excellent computer literacy required.
  • Strong integrity and ability to maintain confidentiality and manage sensitive information.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills including editing and proof-reading skills.
  • Knowledge and/or experience in the engineering/building field considered a strong asset.
  • Excellent attention to detail, accuracy, and organization are required.
  • Exceptional initiative and ability to work with little supervision.
  • Self-motivated team player who is adaptable and flexible to changing priorities.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities.
  • Access to reliable transportation

Compensation:

This is a full-time position with a competitive salary and annual performance bonus. SBM offers a positive working environment and a good relationship with our employees translates directly to better customer service and a superior finished product for our clients. The successful candidate will typically work 8am-5pm Monday-Thursday and 8am-2:30pm on Fridays.
